Meet February Artist EJ Wilson
and celebrate Year of the Horse

February’s art display features the work of local abstract artist EJ Wilson, as well as a collaboration of artists and art work commemorating Chinese New Year and year of the horse.

Wilson works primarily with acrylic paint and collage. She creates layered abstract works that explore color, rhythm and emotional depth. Blending the trained eye of a life-long hair stylist with the intuitive freedom of abstract art, Wilson brings a distinctive sense of design, movement and transformation to her paintings.

In Chinese astrology, each year is associated with one of the 12 zodiac animals. Year of the Horse is represented by art from artists: BJ Beck, Jackie Lee, Pat Meier-Johnson, Stephanie Moor and Brian Nelson.

Meet March Artist Porter Brooks

Wednesday, March 4 – Reception 5:00 – 6:30pm
free and open to the community

March’s art display features the work of local oil painter Porter Brooks. His exhibit California Color showcases genres including Northern California, vivid seascapes and wonderful vineyard landscapes, large format abstracts and small plein air works inspired from around the Bay Area and beyond.

Brooks’ work is a powerful reflection of his life’s journey. He paints in a “loose” impressionist style, creating pieces that are primitive and high impact with color and texture. His other style is contemporary abstract, which focuses on bold shapes, color, and texture to convey emotion and form.

Attendees will have the special opportunity view over 30 pieces in the collection, shop the works, and meet the artist in person.
