A conversation only class. Mondays, 10:30-11:30 a.m.

INSTRUCTOR: Gerard Bessat, a French native who moved to the United States 30 years ago, has been a resident of Sonoma since 2011. After classic studies in France, he earned a degree in aeronautical engineering in France and a Masters in Computer Science from the University of Arizona in Tucson. Gerard’s fluency and education in French as a native speaker and expansive interest in all kinds of fields enable him to offer varied topics for his advanced French conversation classes.

We offer beginning, intermediate and conversational German language classes, as well as German history classes. German language classes are held on Mondays with Beginners from 9-10:30 a.m., Intermediate students from 10:30-11:30 a.m. and Conversational German from 11:30 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.

German Instructor: Manfred Theilig-Speer is a retired History, German and English teacher, who was born in Potsdam, Germany in 1942. Manfred received a humanistic education at the Elisabeth Gymnasium in Berline-Charlottenburg and at the Wittelsbacher Gymnasium in Munich. Thereafter, he studied History, English and Germanistik at the Maximilian University in Munich, Bavaria. Manfred became a teacher of these subjects in high schools and junior colleges in Bavaria. He also became a guest lecturer for Music History at the prestigious Music School “Mozarteum”, in Salzburg, Austria.

We offer beginning, intermediate and conversation Italian language classes. Look for the Italian Film Festival in January and February 2016! Classes are on Mondays, with Beginner class from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and Conversation from 10:30-11:30 a.m.

Italian Instructors: Franco Zacchia is an Italian attorney who loves Italy and its language. He enjoys infecting American people with the beauty of the Italian culture. Franco taught Italian for many years in Mendocino.

We offer beginning I & II, and intermediate/advanced Spanish language classes. Spanish for Beginners I is held on Mondays from 12:30 – 1:30 pm and Beginner II is from 1:30-2:30 p.m.. Intermediate/Advanced Spanish is on Wednesdays from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 pm. Check the schedule for dates.

Spanish Instructor: Judy Berti studied Spanish at the Cuernavaca Language School and was a bilingual teacher and administrator for more than twenty years. The class will emphasize verbal skills as well as comprehension, writing and vocabulary development.

Latin

Latin class is for intermediate students. If you are interested in beginning Latin please call us to let us know.

Latin Instructor: L.A. King, a resident of Sonoma since 2007, earned a PhD. In Medieval Church History.
